Serious eye injury

In the event of a serious eye injury that requires immediate attention please contact the Oxford Eye Hospital on 01865 234567 and choose option 1 followed by option 1. 

This service operates Monday to Friday 8.30am to 4.30pm, Saturday and Sunday 8.30am to 3.30pm (including bank holidays).

Using this service you will be able to speak to a health professional who will advise you.

Outside of these hours please phone NHS 111 or contact your out of hours GP.

If you have an eye emergency please do not attend the eye department straight away. Call the triage number 01865 234567.

Eye casualty is a specialized department dealing with urgent sight-threatening or painful eye problems; it is NOT a walk in clinic. If you turn up without an appointment you will be advised to see your GP or Optometrist.

If you have an eye trauma, severe eye pain or chemical splash out of hours, please go straight to the John Radcliffe Hospital Emergency Department (A&E)
